In 1964, Barbara Hulanicki transformed a small London boutique into the iconic fashion empire Biba, a symbol of the 1960s and 70s. For the first time, the Ilon Art Gallery is exhibiting 14 previously unseen drawings made by this major figure in fashion between 2022 and 2026. The exhibition highlights Hulanicki’s early sketches and drafts, demonstrating the development of her unique style and avant-garde vision. These drawings, often overlooked, offer a rare glimpse into the creative process of the founder of Biba, revealing details about her designs, silhouettes, and the vibrant atmosphere she wanted to infuse into her boutiques. The event is free and provides a unique opportunity to appreciate the work of this British fashion icon. The exhibition is presented by Loni Efron, international curator of the Ilon Art Gallery.
