Jill Magid: Notice of a Citizen

In June 2026, artist Jill Magid will exhibit ‘Notice of a Citizen’, a work exploring the complex relationship between the citizen and the American presidency. The exhibition presents a collection of sculptures, light installations, and drawings that decode the forms, language, and objects used to construct the public appearances of the president, particularly in the Rose Garden – traditionally known as “the people’s garden.” Magid is interested in the ambiguity of this interaction, questioning the nature of power and representation. The exhibition, which runs until July 2026, is the result of an in-depth research into the rituals and symbols associated with the presidential figure. It utilizes a variety of materials, from sculptures to light installations, to create an immersive and stimulating experience. The artwork is accompanied by a collector's edition book anticipating the release of the monograph ‘With Full Consent’.
