Katharina Fritsch

In 2026, Matthew Marks Gallery will present a new exhibition of Katharina Fritsch, marking her return to New York after six years. The exhibition highlights five monumental sculptures, the result of a singular artistic approach in which the artist revisits everyday objects, often from popular culture and history. These works, inspired by models dating from 1979, explore themes such as automotive design, confined spaces, and construction. Fritsch, known for her transformations of familiar forms through variations in size and color, offers a reflection on perception and memory. The exhibition is part of the artist’s long tradition, with her works having been exhibited in prestigious institutions around the world. It will be open from May 8th to June 27th, 2026.
