Little Birds and Our Daily Prayers

In May 2026, the gallery The Locker Room will present “Little Birds and Our Daily Prayers,” an exhibition co-curated by Cameron Barker who reinterprets the Yiddish term “faygeleh” – literally “little bird” – as a call to community. Thirteen artists explore the notion of queerness not as an identity, but as a deep essence, animating daily life with a sensitivity akin to a ritual. The exhibition draws inspiration from the history of the term, initially used as an insult, to transform it into a symbol of strength and unity. Accompanied by a public program including an artist panel, the exhibition will run until the end of June. This exploration of the relationship between the sacred and the profane, the body and the spirit, offers a fresh perspective on the queer experience. The opening will take place on May 7th, from 12pm to 6pm.
