Moving Day

Lucia Hierro presents ‘Moving Day’ at Marc Straus, a poignant exploration of transition and instability through sculptures of boxes and enclosures. The exhibition, which opens on May 8, 2026 and continues until June 28, examines the fragility of housing and the states of physical and psychological flux, particularly in relation to the realities of New York. Hierro draws inspiration from her own experiences, including personal losses, to question the disappearance of artistic spaces and the changing nature of home. This exhibition, produced by a gallery established in 2011 in the Lower East Side, is a unique opportunity to observe a work that resonates with contemporary concerns about displacement and memory.
