Kings and Conquerors

In 2026, Iranian artist Orkideh Torabi, based in New York, will exhibit for the first time at Asya Geisberg Gallery a series of striking paintings. These works, created on cotton with textile dyes, deconstruct portraits of male figures of authority, transforming them into satirical caricatures. The exhibition ‘Kings and Conquerors’ directly interrogates the themes of power and patriarchal domination, questioning traditional historical narratives. Torabi uses a vibrant color palette to create a strong visual impact, offering a critical and subversive perspective on the representation of power. The exhibition is a bold exploration of history through the prism of contemporary art. It will be accessible from April 10th to May 16th, 2026.
