Play by Al Diaz

In 2026, the iconic work “Life is but a Brief Jaunt” by Al Diaz, originally created in 1978 for the Whitney Museum of American Art, will return to the spotlight. This unique exhibition, presented by ilon Art Gallery, offers a new perspective on this subversive and poetic work, which has long been absent from public collections. Loni Efron, curator of the collection, gathers a group of contemporary artists exploring the themes of ephemerality and the human condition. The exhibition highlights the work of artists such as Mick Rock, Ford Crull, and Carlos Pinto, testifying to a vibrant art scene in New York. The event fits into a broader approach aimed at redefining the artistic experience, offering a dialogue between the legacy of modern art and contemporary concerns. The exhibition is accessible to the public from August 24, 2026, to December 24, 2026.
