Sonya Kelliher-Combs: TITIQ/MARK

For nearly two decades, Inupiaq and Koyukon artist Sonya Kelliher-Combs has forged a body of work deeply rooted in history, cultural continuity, and self-determination. The Whitney Museum of American Art highlights this unique exploration of themes related to connection to the land and identity, nourished by ancestral generational knowledge. Based in Anchorage, Alaska, Kelliher-Combs uses inventive approaches to create paintings, sculptures, and installations that are true testaments. Her work offers a rare and essential perspective on how art can express the resilience and vision of a people. This exceptional presentation will be on view at the prestigious New York museum from February 6th to September 1st, 2027.
