Zeuxis: The Oranges of Seville

In 1633, Francisco de Zurbarán signed with his “Still Life with Lemons, Oranges, and a Rose” one of the peaks of Baroque painting. Almost four centuries later, a collective of contemporary artists appropriates this legacy to offer a renewed vision at the Bowery Gallery. The event dialogues the precision of the Spanish Golden Age with current techniques and perspectives. Each canvas exhibited questions the balance of forms and the poetry of everyday life, transforming a historical work into a living experimental space. This confrontation between tradition and modernity allows us to grasp the enduring genius of Zurbarán through unprecedented creations.
