CHAIR SHOW | Pace Gallery

Seating is never an arbitrary choice: it shapes the absence of the body while structuring our social environment. Starting April 17, 2026, the Pace Gallery will dedicate a collective proposal to this universal object to reveal its symbolic power. Going beyond its simple utilitarian function, the event analyzes this familiar piece of furniture as a receptacle of memories, a physical sculpture, and an abstract idea. Until May 23, the exhibited works transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, challenging our perceptions of comfort and domestic aesthetics. This transversal approach allows us to see how contemporary artists seize a daily form to extract a new philosophical reach. It’s a rare opportunity to look at what supports us every day, at the heart of a captivating reflection on design and conceptual art.
