Christina Kruse, a Hamburg-based artist residing in New York, creates a palpable tension through raw materials. Her sculptures and wall compositions, presented at New Discretions from April 2nd to May 9th, 2026, challenge the laws of balance. By marrying bronze, wood, wax, and alabaster, she gives birth to enigmatic silhouettes that oscillate between geometric rigor and organic fragility. These works act as psychological presences, evoking fragments of an interior architecture that is both solid and vulnerable. Through her mixed media pieces incorporating paper and objects, the artist brilliantly interrogates our relationship to instability. It is a rare opportunity to observe how contemporary sculpture manages to capture immobile movement and the weight of silence in a striking physical confrontation.
