Adopted Parisian artist Iván Argote, recently recognized as the youngest artist from the ‘Global South’ to collaborate with the High Line, presents ‘Dinosaur,’ a monumental sculpture of a swallow made from aluminum. This work, the result of a long reflection on the relationship between birds and urban environments, is the fourth commission for the High Line Plinth. Initially conceived in 2020, ‘Dinosaur’ was unveiled in October 2024 and will remain visible until spring 2026. The installation, standing 17 feet tall, is the result of a meticulous and humorous creative process, highlighting the strange beauty of urban forms. This unique piece, originally intended for an international audience, testifies to an innovative artistic approach and a reflection on everyday life. The artwork is accessible for free and constitutes an immersive and poetic experience at the heart of New York.
