Since the 1960s, Lynda Benglis has explored the tension between the organic and the geometric through complex sculptures of knots, pleats, and twists. This exhibition at Pace Gallery presents an inédite (new) collection covering more than fifty years of her career. At the heart of the presentation are her iconic works in ceramics, bronze, paper, and fabric, created between 1972 and 2024. A major highlight is the inclusion of rarely exhibited glass sculptures dating from 1985 – a material often absent from her work. Benglis uses these materials to question notions of femininity, power, and the relationship between humankind and the natural world. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to appreciate the evolution of her artistic approach and the richness of her formal and conceptual explorations. Free admission.
