Monumental

In July 2026, the Sundaram Tagore Gallery will present ‘Monumental’, an exhibition dedicated to the striking impact of scale in contemporary art. The exhibition highlights works by major international artists exploring the relationships between the visible and invisible, matter and space. This group exhibition proposes a dialogue between paintings, photographs, and sculptures, where size plays a central role in the viewer’s perception. The event is part of an artistic tradition dating back to figures like Giotto or Michelangelo, but it translates today through new works by emerging and established talents. The exhibition invites reflection on how our gaze is shaped by the scale and monumentality of artworks. It extends over two weeks, from July 16th to 28th, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate these exceptional creations.
