Sacred Splendor: Jewish Ritual Art and Christian Treasures from St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague

In 1378, Charles IV ordered the construction of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, a major center for sacred art. The Jewish Museum now presents *Sacred Splendor*, an unprecedented exhibition bringing together Christian reliquaries from this cathedral and Jewish ritual objects. The exhibition highlights over 160 works testifying to a rich history of six centuries, exploring the complex links between Jewish and Christian communities during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. This unique presentation offers a look at the expression of faith through material objects – reliquaries, liturgical ornaments, and other treasures – often unknown to the general public. Sponsored by Jan Barta and the Knapp Family Foundation, the exhibition is designed to illustrate moments of artistic exchange and theological divergences between these two cultures. It offers a rare opportunity to contemplate exceptional works of art, testifying to a shared spiritual tradition.
