Since 1609, New York City has undergone a stunning transformation, evolving from a small Dutch outpost to a global center. The “Timescapes” exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York offers an immersive journey through this evolution, thanks to a 28-minute film. Using animated maps and archival photographs, the work tells the story of the city, from the first colonists to the significant events that shaped its identity. Narrated by Stanley Tucci, this multimedia experience, enhanced with paintings and artworks from the museum, allows one to understand the multiple facets of New York. The exhibition, the result of a collaboration between the Museum of the City of New York and Local Projects, is a unique opportunity to discover the fascinating evolution of the metropolis. It is accessible from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2099.
