Vik Muniz: Brushstrokes

In 2026, Sikkema Malloy Jenkins presents an entirely new work by Vik Muniz, exploring the legacy of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. Muniz, known for his bold reconstructions of iconic artworks using unexpected materials – chocolate, sugar, debris – offers here a personal interpretation of their pictorial language. The exhibition, titled “Brushstrokes,” invites reflection on how the techniques and motifs of these great masters continue to influence contemporary art. A public event with the artist will take place on May 14th, from 6pm to 8pm, offering a unique opportunity to meet the artist.
