Animals and Culture

From the earliest rock paintings to our modern-day companions, the bond that unites us to life shapes our collective identity. The Maison de l’animal en ville – Jane Goodall proposes, from September 1st to 5th, 2026, a reflective journey on the place animals occupy in our imaginations and societies. This event questions how we perceive, protect, or transform the animal figure throughout the centuries. Located at the heart of the Chai de Bercy, this brief but intense encounter sheds light on the issues of urban biodiversity and the need to rethink our cohabitation with other species. A valuable opportunity to cast a fresh look at those who share our daily lives, even if they are not always heard.
