Workshops on Gros Grain Ribbon with Sofía Bonilla Otoya

In October 2026, Colombian artist Sofía Bonilla Otoya invites you to a playful exploration of grosgrain ribbon at the Galerie du 19M. As part of the exhibition “Metamorphoses, Maison Michel Hats,” she offers a workshop where participants transform this traditional material into colorful sculptures and compositions. Through simple gestures – folding, twisting, tying, weaving – they create shapes, volumes, and textures inspired by Parisian ornaments. The artist draws inspiration from the architectural and floral details of the capital to encourage experimentation and spontaneous creation. This project is an invitation to rethink the uses of grosgrain ribbon, traditionally associated with hatmaking, transforming it into a versatile artistic medium. Children and adults will be able to let their imaginations run wild and create unique works. Admission costs €1 to €29.
