In April 2026, the Swedish Institute in Paris will host an exhibition dedicated to Cecilia Edefalk, a major figure in contemporary Swedish art since the 1980s. This artist’s work is characterized by a constant progression from figuration to abstraction, weaving a dialogue between memories, visions, and motifs from the history of art. Edefalk draws inspiration from pre-existing images and figurative forms, enriching her work with references to nature and echoes of conversations with artistic figures like Hilma af Klint. This exhibition is all the more unique because it was born from a collaboration with the spiritual August Strindberg, whose influence can be felt in the artist’s contemplative approach. The exhibition is free and open from April 3rd to May 31st, 2026. A unique opportunity to discover a deeply personal and innovative body of work.
