In 2026, the Musée de la Vie Romantique will celebrate Paul Huet (1803-1869), a little-known but crucial artist of French Romanticism. The exhibition “Face au ciel” (Facing the Sky) unveils a collection of approximately 50 works, exploring his fascination for the sky and its variations, from tumultuous storms to the serenity of landscapes. Huet, often considered a precursor to Romantic landscape painting, captured intense emotions through the celestial motif, anticipating the beginnings of Impressionism. This exhibition marks the reopening of the museum after a major renovation and is part of the new permanent collection route. The exhibition offers a novel perspective on the work of an artist who was able to translate the power and beauty of nature. It will run from February 14th to August 30th, 2026.
