The Architect of Light

Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust draws the contours of a forbidden land through a personal quest begun ten years ago. For his first Parisian monography, the artist transforms the Institut des Cultures d’Islam into a sensitive cartography of his Iranian roots. Through new works, he composes a narrative where textile and gesture intertwine. His vibrant and dazzling staging is directly inspired by his performance practice to bring to life an intimate geography, both imaginary and experienced. The space becomes the stage for a moving identity, blending fragmented memories and contemporary creations. It’s a privileged opportunity to apprehend the work of this creator who transmutes the impossibility of physical travel into a flamboyant visual material within the institute's galleries.
