Herbs and Locks

In November 2026, children from the 18th arrondissement will celebrate local biodiversity with a unique exhibition: “Herbs and Lockside Grasses.” Inspired by the collections of young naturalists, this initiative offers visitors the chance to discover an herbarium created from summer harvests made in the rooftop garden of the Cugnot leisure center. Antoine Chaumeil, a prominent figure in local botany, accompanies this exhibition by presenting his techniques and expertise. The young participants have developed original works based on plant specimens, demonstrating their passion for nature. The exhibition thus offers an immersive journey to the heart of the Île-de-France flora, accessible to all ages. A pedagogical project enriched by a collection of herbaria and practical workshops, it aligns with a strategy of raising awareness about the environment and the richness of Paris’s plant heritage.
