Stories of Landscapes: From Monet to Hockney (1890-2026)

Claude Monet and David Hockney come together at the Musée Marmottan Monet for a masterful confrontation between tradition and modernity. This ambitious project, carried out hand in hand with the Grenoble museum, unfolds over more than a century of artistic transformations. From the impressionist vibrations born around 1890 to current technological experiments, nature reveals itself under unsuspected angles. The union of these prestigious collections allows us to admire major works rarely presented together. This thematic journey illustrates how painters have constantly reinvented their relationship with the outside world, playing with light and perspectives. Between the classics of the 19th century and today’s daring approaches, visitors grasp the very essence of creation facing the elements. A striking visual journey that reconciles the eras and styles.
