At the heart of Paris, the National Maritime Museum invites you on a four-century journey. To coincide with the 400th anniversary of the Navy, the exhibition reveals how painters shaped our maritime imagination. From the 17th to the 20th century, nearly 150 works testify to the evolution of the French naval power and its impact on art. The exhibition highlights the deep links between artistic creation, political ambition, and the exploration of the seas. From portraits of sailors to battle scenes, passing through spectacular views of ships, the exhibited works offer a novel perspective on the history of the Navy. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to appreciate the art and history of the sea, from May 13th to August 2nd, 2026. It takes place at the Palais de Chaillot, an emblematic location in Paris.
