Between 1931 and 1934, photographer François Kollar captured the soul of French crafts, freezing ancestral gestures and exceptional skills. On the occasion of the bicentenary of photography (2026-2027), the Forney Library unveils a selection of his works at the heart of Paris. His photographs, true testimonies of France at work, depict with striking force the world of artisans and the richness of their heritage. It’s a poignant visual immersion in a bygone era, recognizing the manual and industrial legacy. These photographs, imbued with deep humanity, are presented to the public from September 3rd to December 6th, 2026, at the picturesque Jardin Monica Vitti, an annex of the Hôtel de Sens. A unique opportunity to discover the grandeur of French craftsmanship through the lens of a major artistic figure.
