Starting in 2024, the Élysée Palace opens its doors to an often-overlooked aspect of the Republic: the honorary titles of the President of the Republic. An unprecedented exhibition, in collaboration with the Musée de la Légion d'honneur et des ordres de chevalerie, reveals a collection of forty objects and archival documents. These distinctions, symbols of recognition and prestige, illustrate the evolution of the French executive power. The exhibition explores the origin and meaning of these titles, their role in republican life, and how they are awarded. It offers a unique glimpse into the institutional mechanisms and symbols that make up the presidential function. A rare opportunity to understand the foundations of the Republic just two steps from the Palais de l’Élysée. The exhibition is free to visit from April 28 to June 27, 2026.
