The Clothes of Armand and La Princesse Coquette - Bibliothèque André Malraux
In May and June 2026, the André Malraux Library invites you to an unprecedented exploration of the relationship with fashion through two iconic children’s albums: “Armand and the Stories of Clothes” by Esmé Planchon and Héloïse Solt, and “The Petulant Princess” by Christine Naumann-Villemin and Marianne Barcilon. The exhibition presents reproductions of original illustrations, exploring how clothing shapes our identities and actions. The event is part of a reflection on the function of clothing, ranging from practical necessity to personal expression, as demonstrated by the story of The Petulant Princess and its adaptation to weather conditions. An opportunity to discover the creative universes of these authors and illustrators, and to reflect on how our clothing choices reflect our aspirations. The exhibition is free and open from May 13th to August 1st, 2026.
