Madeleine de Sinéty. A Life

Madeleine de Sinéty spent her life capturing the intimacy of the world without ever really seeking out light. For the very first time, the Jeu de Paume dedicates a large retrospective to this photographer whose work remained almost secret until her death in 2011. While a few black and white photographs had fleetingly crossed the public’s eye at the end of the 1990s, this event unveils entirely new series. It is a unique opportunity to grasp the sensitivity of an artist who documented her time with a shattering accuracy. These visual treasures, long hidden in the shadows of archives, are finally being exhibited on Place de la Concorde from June 12th to September 24th, 2026. A must-see event to understand the force of a gaze that remained too long confidential.
