Noa Eshkol revolutionized the Israeli art scene by inventing a universal language for the movement. For her first retrospective in France, the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire du Judaïsme highlights the unique trajectory of this visionary choreographer. Starting in the 1950s, she abandoned narrative for pure abstraction, transcribing dance into mathematical notations before translating it into monumental “wall tapestries.” These colorful textile assemblages, created without seams or prior drawing, are presented here alongside video archives, photographs, and previously unseen sketches. An opportunity to grasp the incredible modernity of a creator who fused the rigor of gesture with the freedom of matter. This exceptional event will take place from April 16th to August 30th, 2026.
