Guided Tour of the Exhibition: Extensions

The Institut des Cultures d’Islam highlights the striking encounter between athletic performance and contemporary creation. From May 30th to June 20th, 2026, mediators accompany visitors to decipher artworks that transform the playing field into a space for political and social reflection. These exchanges allow us to understand how movement of the body and physical discipline become powerful tools of expression in the Muslim world and beyond. Through a selection of installations and photographs, the journey interrogates our representations of competition and collectivity. These weekly encounters, scheduled every Saturday, prioritize proximity to make art alive and accessible to all. It’s an opportunity to understand how the athletic gesture is inscribed within a broader cultural history than just a simple match score.
