Dana Lixenberg — American Images

In 1964, Dana Lixenberg was born in Amsterdam, but her gaze at the United States, as a foreigner, gave rise to a unique photographic oeuvre. The European House of Photography presents “American Images,” her first solo exhibition in Paris, from February 11th to May 24th, 2026. The exhibition brings together over 30 years of portraits, from celebrities to marginalized figures, captured with meticulous attention and deep respect. Lixenberg, influenced by her field work, explores the complexity of the American dream through images where the dignity of the subjects is paramount. Family guided visits, offered during school holidays, allow children and adults to discover this sensitive work. The exhibition is a plunge into a universe where slowness and listening are pillars, and where the large format camera reveals exceptional details and textures. Tickets are available from €5 to €15.
