Line of Life - Galerie Negropontes Paris
In 2026, the Galerie Negropontes Paris will host a solo show by Étienne Moyat, the result of a year-long exhibition dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Constantin Brancusi. The artist explores the deep connections between wood, gesture, and time, common legacies of the two creators. The exhibition “Line of Life” presents a collection of carved panels and wooden sculptures, made using an ancestral technique: direct wood felling. Moyat uses the chainsaw not as a destructive tool, but as an instrument of liberation, allowing a gesture that is both free, instinctive, and controlled. His works, characterized by surfaces marked by fluid lines and rhythms, testify to a contemplative approach and a search for balance. Complementing the exhibition, a selection of recent paintings, influenced by expressionism and primitivism, enriches this exploration of life and its relationship to time. Free and accessible from April 24th to July 31st, 2026, this exhibition is a unique opportunity to discover an artist engaged in an artistic approach deeply rooted in the history of art.
