Since the 18th century, the hand of the engraver has sought to go beyond the simple line to capture the vibration of light on metal. The Taylor Foundation offers a novel perspective on this craft by focusing on the treatment of the surface and the material. This second installment of an ambitious cycle highlights the evolution of techniques that allow for the creation of infinite nuances, from the deepest black to the most airy grays. Between May 7th and May 30th, 2026, the exhibited works demonstrate how artists have mastered the plate to give it a nearly flesh-like depth. It is a rare opportunity to appreciate the delicacy of an art often perceived as purely technical, but here revealed in all its poetic and sensory dimension.
