In January 2026, the Spéos gallery in Paris will present a unique exhibition by Pénélope Thomaidi, a Greek documentary photographer, exploring the consequences of climate change on the Mediterranean landscape. The exhibition, titled “New Reality,” juxtaposes two distinct visual projects, offering a previously unseen look at contemporary Greece. Thomaidi, trained in Fine Arts and graphic design, uses her art to denounce the links between human activity and the fragility of the environment. The exhibition, the result of both an engaged and contemplative work, oscillates between reportage and poetry, documenting the transformations of the Mediterranean. It fits within a sensitization approach to the urgency of climate change, linking the past and the present. The exhibition is free and runs from January to May 2026. It’s an opportunity to grasp a crucial subject through an original artistic perspective.
