Hyperrealism. This is not a body. - Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec
Since the 1970s, hyperrealistic sculpture has challenged our perception of reality. The exhibition at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec presents approximately forty striking works created by international and Quebec artists, including Maurizio Cattelan, Ron Mueck, and Patricia Piccinini. These sculptures, often depicting human figures suspended between childhood and old age, blur the boundaries between reality and illusion. Organized by the Institut für Kulturaustausch de Tübingen, the exhibition has traveled around the world, testifying to the impact of this artistic movement. Guided tours, workshops, and an audio guide are offered to deepen the experience. The event is part of a reflection on identity, mortality, and the impact of technology on our perception of the body. Tickets cost $20 and the exhibition is open from January 15, 2026 to October 12, 2026.
