Roman Remains of Celii: Admission Ticket

Twenty ancient halls lie silently beneath the Basilica of San Giovanni e Paolo, offering an intact testimony to daily life between the 2nd and 4th centuries. This underground network reveals a complex superposition of eras: a luxurious pagan dwelling neighbors a popular residential building, while a domus gradually transforms into a paleochristian place of worship. The journey through these different levels makes the social structure of Antiquity tangible thanks to the frescoes and perfectly preserved architectural remains. This exceptional site allows you to observe the transformation of a residential neighborhood over several centuries without ever surfacing. The route also includes access to temporary exhibitions organized on-site from June 12th to September 27th, 2026.
